The challenge
QC4U has sat at the heart of the inspection operation for years, but the ambitions reach further than the current system can carry. HDG wants to grow the platform with ever more functionality for its end clients, from orders and planning through to reporting and invoicing.
Building on the old foundations would make every next step slower and more expensive. So the choice was a full rebuild: a multi-tenant SaaS platform in which the AI document processing and report generation aren't separate tools beside the system, but part of the platform itself.
Our approach
- 01
Foundations first
Authentication, the multi-tenant setup, master data, relations, users and organisation structure. These foundations have been delivered and signed off.
- 02
Orders and configuration engine
The order flow and a configuration engine for formats and inspection rules, so new products, clients and inspection types can be set up without custom work.
- 03
Inspections in the field
The QC module with a mobile app for inspectors on site, alongside back-office surveys and planning.
- 04
From report to go-live
Invoicing, reports, a dashboard and a client portal, with the AI document processing and report generation built in. Then come the data migration from QC4U and the acceptance tests towards go-live.
The result
The project is still live. The foundations (milestone 1 of 10) have been delivered and signed off; the build continues in phases through to the data migration and acceptance tests at the end of 2026, with go-live in 2027.
The AI document processing for packing lists is already running at HDG, and the AI report generation is in its final phase. Both become a built-in part of the new platform. Once the platform is live, we'll add concrete figures to this case.
